Many of our friends and family members have travelled to Fiji and they all come back with wonderful stories. With over 150 hotels and resorts, Fiji certainly caters well to travellers, but unfortunately many people come home having seen very little of the real Fiji. This is why we have decided to take a different approach to our vacation and find a way of being able to move around and sample some of the 322 stunning islands Fiji has to offer. Not being great fans of packing and unpacking all the time, we decided to take a cruise with Captain Cook Cruises.
Not only did Captain Cook Cruises provide a comfortable accommodation for the whole family, but we were absolutely thrilled to discover that they had so many wonderful authentic experiences included in the cruise. From visiting villages and local schools, to attending church serves and village markets – the cultural experiences were second to none. It was great to see that the company has established such great relationship with the locals and that they support small villages along the way.
Also, being a smaller boat to your usual massive cruises, allowed us to get to know fellow travellers and staff, making the experience much more personal. The staff members were super friendly and you could tell they really enjoyed spending time with kids.
The whole cruise, coupled with beautiful scenery, incredible sunsets and lots of fun activities like snorkelling, kayaking and para sailing – it was such a breath of fresh air! Not to mention that our kids learned to scuba dive on the cruise, which made this experience absolutely unforgettable! After spending an hour and a half with the instructors in the pool, they ventured off into Nemo’s Land (the ocean) holding on to their instructor’s hands who ensured they wouldn’t drop below 2 meters in depth. This was a massive highlight of their trip!
The only regret we had was choosing a 3 day cruise rather then a 7 or 11 day cruise. Those on board who stayed longer absolutely loved it! We were super sad to leave!
Captain Cook Cruises truly transformed our Fiji holiday into voyage of adventure and discovery. We highly recommend it to families who want to explore!
